PhD Students

The Erasmus+ programme (2021–2027) supports international mobility in higher education.
Doctoral candidates can benefit from it by undertaking research, teaching, or training stays abroad, enriching their academic journey.
Such mobility fosters the development of scientific, linguistic, and intercultural skills, while also enhancing the professional prospects of future PhD graduates.

Who can apply?

Any doctoral candidate is eligible for Erasmus+ mobility if they:

  • are enrolled in a PhD programme at the University of French Polynesia;

  • have obtained the approval of their thesis supervisor and doctoral school;

  • propose a project directly related to their research.

For study or traineeship mobility, candidates may choose either a short-term mobility (5 to 30 days) or a long-term mobility (2 to 12 months). Please note that the total duration of combined study and traineeship mobility must not exceed 12 months.

Students must carry out their physical mobility activity in a programme or partner country that is different from both the sending institution’s country and the country of residence during their studies.

For study mobility, the host institution must be a partner university with which UPF has a doctoral-level agreement.
